We take our clients comments very seriously.

Every client that provides us with their e-mail address will receive an automated satisfaction survey 24 hours after their visit, or after any other update of their pet's medical history, unless they have received another survey within the past 90 day. 

The survey has about nine questions.  The last question of the survey is:

    "Is there anything else you would like to tell us, or are there any other questions you wish we had asked?"

All comments, good or bad, will be shown here (with names of clients removed for privacy).  We reserve the right to add comments in the way of explanation, but we will not edit the content, except for profanity.

The technicians were great, I felt the doctor could have a better bedside manner. Just because an animal is old, I don't think the first words after the assessment should be well he is older and you should maybe put him down, especially with a head shake as if to say he has no chance. This was done even though there was no test result yet as to what is definitively wrong with the cat. I received a similar reaction from a veterinarian in a different situation and that is why I chose to come to your clinic and see a feline specialist. My cat is still in need of a professional, however I am hesitant to bring him back because of this.

This was the first time I was there with my cat,and I was very impressed with how friendly the staff was,how clean the lobby and examining room were.All my questions were answered and I did not feel rushed to have to leave.I will be bringing Moosey back in the future when she needs something.Thank you all,

I can't begin to express how impressed I was with the friendlyness and professionalism of your staff. It was a pleasure doing business with them. Incidently, I was charged $20+ for a flea bath for my cat. Petco charges $60, so you could safely raise your rates. Sincerely, Burr Hazen

Dr. Nixon, Mr. Nixon, and all of the staff are virtual family. They treat me with kindness and understanding. They are my cheerleaders and seem truly as happy as I am when my cancer [radiology] scans and tests are negative. They love my cats and demonstrate deep concern for their health and psychological well being. The cost of services gives me pause and is a source of friction betweenm husband and me. He routinely "asks" that I take the cats to another clinic with lower fees. I recognize, however, the substatial cost of maintaining a state-of- the -art facility and retaining top-notch assistants Cost is a knotty issue!

I love the service that I receive from Cat Care Clinic. My cat was sick and I called and left a message the night before. I received a phone call back before the clinic was even open. That shows me that you guys really care. I feel so comfortable with the care my cat receives. I live in Edgewater and I will drive any cat there because she gets the upmost care. I would also like to say that the receptionist with black hair is the nicest girl and is always so caring and sweet. Thanks,

Why was I charged a 45.00 sedation fee when they never sedated the cat? Also, I had a slip from the adoption center for a free checkup but they still managed to get $200.00 plus dollars out of us. Seems like you are more interested in the dollar than the welfare of the animal. I will not bring my cat back there.

Some of the questions on your survey lead to an answer that is perhaps not what you are - or perhaps you are - looking for to begin with. It is like asking someone - so you like that hat you are wearing? Well, of course, they should, perhaps not that much, but they paid what they expected to .......and they wear the hat. Of course perhaps it is raining and it is a rain hat and they do not like it at all but it is better than getting wet! Just attempting to make you review your questions. I find them psychologically begging in tone. As to if I am happy, once I was, then I wasn't - wrote you an email (not part of the survey), you responded and I brought Bear back and now I am happy again. I believe you should advise AND encourage people to express their concerns rather than fill out a yes/no/multiple choice survey. No need to encourage me - have a good day - will see you tomorrow morning (Saturday) with Bear in tow.

I CANCELLED my appointment when I could not get an evening nor Saturday appointment and you e-mailed my cat's records to me so I could take him to another Vet in town with more user friendly hours. You should not be sending this e-mail to people who cancelled appointments!

I was very impressed with your clinic. It's so bright and cheery. Also extremely clean. The tech we had was awesome. She really knew her stuff and was very informative. It's very hard to hand your cat over to new people, we went to our last place for 10 yrs. and my daughter works there and we know everyone. EVERYONE WAS FRIENDLY. PRICE WAS MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. WE WERE THINKING OF RESCUING ANOTHER KITTEN FROM A SHELTER & HAVE THEM GROW UP TOGETHER, BUT THERES NO WAY WE COULD AFFORD TO. I THINK MORE ANIMALS WOULD BE ADOPTED IF IT WASN'T SO EXPENSIVE. (Note from CCC:  We know that medical costs can add up.  And a new kitty's first visit is often one of the most expensive.  Perhaps adopting a cat from the Halifax Humane society would be a good idea.  They will already have tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids (a test we must charge over $50 for).  Also, pets adopted from the humane society are eligible for a free first exam ($23 if part of the kitten series).  But unfortunately, quality veterinary care comes at a price and must be considered when adopting a pet.  It is for this reason that pet insurance is becoming more popular.  The Halifax Humane Society is now offering a free 30 day shelter care policy which can be continued indefinitely for a very reasonable monthly cost.

(note from ccc:  We used to offer a reduced fee for additional pets during the same visit, but we decided to eliminate that practice in lieu of raising prices.  We have not raised our exam fees since Jan, 2008 (almost three years, and that was a 3% raise.  We are aware this economy is effecting everyone).

I was sent home with more pills than were required for the dosing instructions. When I called I was told this was just incase more medicine was needed to continue for a longer period of time (the doctor would call and tell me to do this if necessary). I would have liked to know this before I noticed these extra pills at home (thought I misunderstood and was doing something incorrectly or the label was wrong).

A more reasonable cost for services and extra tests is very much needed! Spending $200 to $300 per visit is very excessive! I appreciate the great care my cat gets at Cat Care Clinic but a reformed pricing is needed. :)
 (note from CCC:  We understand your concern.  However quality medicine is unfortunately expensive.  "$200 to $300) is way way above our average transaction fee, but lab tests or other diagnostics and treatments can easily add up).

Dr. Nixon was great putting Lucy to sleep to check her, so she could examine her, X-Ray, the associates that helped her cut her nails, shaved her bottom she has never looked so nice,clean and comfortable, the young lady that took the time to write down for me how to administer meds by doses, what a great team!

When I brought **** in for his checkup, he needed blood work (which I knew). **** has VERY tiny veins and needs a kitten size needle to draw blood. I asked that Dr. Nixon draw his blood so he wouldn't be poked at too many times. She left the room and a tech came in to the room to draw his blood and I said "where is Dr. Nixon" and I was told "she wants us to do it". I said, "so you are telling me she refuses to oblige my request"? After I specifically asked for her??? Really??? Well, as expected, they stuck him with the needle many, many times!!!!...and didn't know he needed a kitten needle. It was a terrible experience and I was FURIOUS!!! I will never let a tech draw his blood again. If Dr. Nixon refuses to take his blood, he won't have blood work. period! Response?
(Note from CCC:  We wish we had a better answer for this.  Perhaps the situation wasn't handled as well as it should have been we apologize for that.  On the other hand, it is more difficult to draw blood from a cat than from than humans and this particular cat is extremely difficult.  Our technicians are well trained and do this every day.  Dr. Nixon rarely draws blood because her skills as a doctor are better used elsewhere.  Demanding that she take time away from other clients to perform a job that she pays other to do, and who are better at it than she is, is quite frankly unreasonable.  But if that wasn't explained to you to your satisfaction at the time, then we did indeed drop the ball.

Thank you for providing quality care for cats. At most practices cats are kind of an afterthought since most patients are dogs (at least based on what I see when I go for an appointment).

I was very impressed that you saw a problem with his right eye. It was not that unnoticeable, but he had been to (another vet hospital) three or four times (only one actual exam) and nothing was said. I am happier that I am on notice of a problem so that I may more quickly respond if his eye "acts up." I am considering taking him to you for all his care even though I have to drive up from S. Daytona. And Bunky doesn't like long rides either!

I really appreciate the care and attention given to my cat and am happy that all of my concerns were addressed and answered. I expected to pay a higher rate for specialty services and was pleased that they were not too high. Mostly, I appreciate being given a plan of action to take in helping my cat as well as the follow up from the hospital and administration staff. Customer care is superior to any I have experienced, EVER.
