Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (386) 671-0747.

1. What are the Hospital hours?

Please click here to see our hours.

2. I have heard that you are expensive.  Is this true?

We do not believe our fees are high for what we offer. We are a very high quality medical facility with a very high survival rate.  While quality always cost more, for similar services we are often less expensive than other hospitals.  For instance, our office visit is generally 30 to 45 minutes.  Some other hospitals offer a 15 or 20 minute appointment and they may double or even triple book. For an extra few dollars, you get much more. You may also find that we might offer more extensive diagnostics in order to properly diagnose a problem rather than guessing, or referring you to a specialist. (After all, Dr. Nixon IS a specialist!)

3. Do I need to have an appointment?

Appointments are preferable.  At very least, you need to call ahead prior to coming as it is not guaranteed that our doctor will be available at all times.  If you arrive without an appointment, you may be asked to wait until we have time to see you, or you may be asked to schedule an appointment at a later date.  Of course, if you have an emergency, you will be seen immediately.

4. What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, CareCredit, Mastercard, Visa and American Express.  We are sorry, but we do not accept Discover Card.

5. Can I make payments?

Payment is required at the time of service.  We do offer a third party financing plan called Care Credit.  It takes only a few minutes to apply, and if approved, you may qualify for 6 months with no interest. For invoices over $1,000 you may qualify for extended payment plans (24, 36, 48 or 60 months) at 14.9% interest. Please be aware that you MUST pay the entire balance off within 6 months or you will be charged for full interest in arrears!

Your Care Credit credit card can be used at many of your human doctors offices as well, including dentists, audiologists, optometrists etc.

6.  Do you board cats?

Yes, we have a wonderful boarding facility. The cats boarding with us are housed in a separate area away from the hospital with a large window for the cat's enjoyment. Towels, litter boxes and food are provided. You may bring your own, but there is no guarantee that yours will be returned. We feed Hill's Science Diet dry maintenance diet.  If your cat prefers other foods, or is on a prescribed diet, we suggest you bring that with you, or you can usually purchase it here.  It is required that your cats be up to date on Rabies and FVRCP (Distemper) vaccinations.

Please feel free to stop by and ask for a tour, or call if you have any additional questions about our boarding facility.
